Life Book 2014 – Week 1

Week 1:  Tamara Laporte – Warm Up & Colour Theory and Inner Artist Guardian Angel

This lesson was a two- parter.

This year we were to find our “word” for the year.

I originally chose Äccept”.  Not äcceptance”, because to me, acceptance felt like it was something that had already been done, had already reached it’s end point.  Accept was more of a “continuing”.

BUT…  The first thing that greeted me on new Years Day was the stillness and quiet.  We usually have a heap of birds in our yard, so to hear stillness and quiet was quite noticeable.   I searched the scriptures and found  Isaiah 30:15 “In returning (repentance) and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and confidence (trust) shall be your strength”.  I knew that my word for the year would now be “trust”.  Trust God.  Trust Jesus.  Trust myself.  Trust the process.  Trust the timing.  etc, etc, etc

My Inner Artist Guardian Angel didn’t need wings.  She represents me.  Yes, in all her nakedness before God.  We cannot hide from Him, so she wanted to just be herself.  No masks.  No pretense.  Just open and honest before the Lord, in amongst some beautiful trees.

Hebrews 4: 13  And no creature is hidden from His sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him whom we must give account.

Henri Nouwen writes in A Cry for Mercy; “Take away the many fears, suspicions, and doubts by which I prevent you from being my Lord, and give me the courage and freedom to appear naked and vulnerable in the light of your presence, confident in your unfathomable mercy.”

Isn’t that beautiful…  <3
